Protecting Brand Equity, Enabling Campaign Agility, and Scaling Internal Execution
Crystal Knows needed its marketing design assets, from newsletters to ebooks, translated into scalable, platform-ready formats without compromising brand integrity.
While they had a brand guide and a solid website, Hatch identified inconsistencies in visual direction that could erode brand trust and slow campaign execution.
Instead of moving straight into production, Hatch strengthened the creative foundation first, ensuring every deliverable, from email templates to gated content, would be brand-true, technically compatible, and reusable by their internal team.
The Objective
To deliver platform-ready marketing assets that faithfully reflected the approved designs while protecting brand equity, accelerating speed-to-market, and enabling Crystal Knows’ internal team to execute future campaigns independently. The Challenge
When Hatch began working with Crystal Knows, two business-critical challenges emerged:- Brand risk — Color and visual inconsistencies between the brand guide and the live site risked diluting brand recognition across campaigns.
- Platform constraints — HubSpot’s strict limitations (no gradients, shadows, custom fonts, or text/image layering) and Figma-to-InDesign translation challenges for the ebook threatened both design fidelity and delivery speed.
The Process
→ Phase 1: Establishing a Unified Stylescape
Hatch curated a brand stylescape to unify creative direction and safeguard brand consistency. During this stage, mismatched color values between the brand guide and website were corrected, ensuring every touchpoint would project a consistent, trusted identity.→ Phase 2: Translating Design Systems into Scalable Templates
The stylescape was translated into a flexible brand system spanning multiple campaign formats:- A HubSpot newsletter adapted for platform constraints while maintaining design intent.
- A marketing ebook designed for both digital and print usability, ensuring visual cohesion with Crystal Knows’ broader brand communications
→ Phase 3: Adapting for Platform Agility
Gradients and unsupported effects were redesigned for compatibility, while maintaining the premium look of the brand. In the ebook, typography and layout adjustments were optimized for readability across screen sizes, with interactive links and clear content hierarchy for a frictionless user experience.→ Phase 4: Empowering the Internal Team
A limitations guide and usage documentation were delivered to Crystal Knows’ team, removing guesswork in future executions. Marketers could now independently manage both HubSpot campaigns and long-form content production, all within brand parameters.
The Result
Crystal Knows now has:- A unified visual foundation across newsletter, ebook, and future marketing assets.
- Platform-optimized templates that preserve design integrity and speed up deployment.
- An internal creative playbook that reduces vendor dependency and safeguards brand quality at scale.
